Your Support Makes an Impact!

School of the Incarnation’s challenging academic environment, supportive and engaged community, and dedicated faculty set us apart. Like all Catholic schools, however, SOTI relies on philanthropic support to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each full-time student.

Your gift directly enriches every aspect of student life - academics, arts, athletics, student activities, staff development, and technology. Together, we can ensure that SOTI continues to provide an exceptional education rooted in faith and excellence.

The Incarnation Fund takes place every year from July 1st through June 30th (our fiscal year) and is the number one annual fundraising priority for our school. Incarnation Fund gifts help ensure immediate and flexible funding for the school’s greatest needs. Participation at any level from our community is what matters most. It demonstrates our collective belief in the mission of SOTI and our dedication to the success of the school.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is participation important?
All Catholic and Independent schools aim for 100% participation in their Annual Fund. We have all heard the saying, “many hands make light work.” The same is true in fundraising! Every gift, every amount, makes an impact. High participation is a sign that parents are invested in our future and support SOTI’s mission. A high level of parent participation in the Incarnation Fund may also support funding through grants and major gifts for special projects. Strong community participation indicates a high level of commitment that may influence outside donors. SOTI also solicits gifts from alumni, alumni families, grandparents, and friends of the school to offer all members of our learning community the opportunity to support our school. It’s not about how much, but how many!

Why have an Annual Fund? Why not just raise tuition?
Unlike tuition, your gifts to the Incarnation Fund may be tax deductible. We strive to keep our tuition affordable for our families, so there is a gap between what our families pay and what it actually costs to educate one student. We bridge this gap through our philanthropic endeavors. This includes the Incarnation Fund, our annual giving drive, but also event fundraisers, like The Gala, and sourcing outside funding through grants and foundations. We pride ourselves on working to see the impact of every dollar on our students.

What is a matching gift?
As an employee benefit, more than 550 American corporations match their staff’s philanthropy. Matching gifts allow you to double or triple your gift to a school. After confirming that your employer is indeed a matching gift corporation, obtain a matching gift form from the human resources department, fill it out, and send it to the school with your gift. The development office then submits the form to the company’s matching gift department, which sends the check directly to the school.

What is the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)?
School of the Incarnation is a participating charity in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) which allows federal employees to donate to non-profit organizations through workplace giving. Our school is charity code #94557.

What is the difference between restricted vs. unrestricted giving?
Restricted gifts can be spent only for a specific purpose that you designate, such as financial aid or a particular academic program. Gifts to the Garrett Brown Memorial Fund and the Capital Campaign are examples of restricted gifts. Unrestricted gifts can be spent where the school believes the need is greatest. Unrestricted giving the greatest flexibility. Unrestricted giving represents the highest form of philanthropy. It helps to ensure immediate and flexible funding for the school’s greatest needs. Incarnation Fund gifts are unrestricted.

How do I know how much to give?
Gifts to the Incarnation Fund range from $100 to $50,000. Each and every gift impacts our programs and shapes students' experience! We recognize that some families will give more and some less, and we appreciate the generosity of everyone who chooses to give.

I can't give very much. Will my donation really make a difference?
Absolutely! Every gift counts toward our goal.

What is the Foundational Gift Society?
Established in 2021, the Foundational Gift Society recognizes those supporters who donated $1,000 or more to the Incarnation Fund during that fiscal year.
