National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 to foster leadership and citizenship among middle school students. Membership to NJHS is awarded based on five pillars of the organization: scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.

School of the Incarnation invites students in the sixth and seventh grades who have met the academic criteria to apply to the school’s chapter of NJHS.   To meet the academic requirement, the student must have earned a 93% average for both the first and second trimester of the current academic year. The application process includes a written essay, an interview, and a review of the student's service, character, leadership, and citizenship. Completed applications are reviewed by our faculty council to determine which students will be invited to participate in NJHS for the following school year.  Students who are selected are notified in writing and provided with information on the NJHS Induction and Cording Ceremony.
